Since I am becoming a teacher...

How do I see teaching:
There are different methods in teaching, they depend on subject, age, and level of teaching. In our case there are students above 18 years old. Since I have no teaching experience this teaching will be for me as experimental. Personally I am not strict teacher, but demanding. I do not like students who are careless in the class. For that kind of students I try to explain that this is important for them, not because they are paying money but they could learn something from my lessons.
In my point of view teaching must be comprehensive and modern. Widely spread mistake in our education system is that we do not use new literatures. Books and materials that printed in early 90s or 80s are still being used by our lecturers. Also teachers can't give a simple example for that what they are explaining in their theories.
I would prepare for my each lesson, because students might ask any question. I know that I cant answer all their questions and it is not possible to know everything, but it might look not professional if I wouldn't know simple things students are asking. Moreover sometimes students ask things that they already know just to check you. I used to do that. So good preparation is very important in teaching.
Teaching must be fun, not torturing. I love to be positive in teaching. Of course everything must have its limits as Socrates said. Therefore I need to be strict sometimes.
Being more details how would I teach if I had a chance to teach. First of all I would introduce myself. Secondly I would tell about me shortly. After that I would have a chance to get to know everyone in the class. Also I would try to remember them all by names, because it is very important to know everyone personally. I think it gives students feeling that they are respected.
Motivation is one of the important things in teaching. There are many students who have incredible abilities but less diligence. It might be because they are lazy or they just don't want. Why? Because they are not motivated enough. So the right motivation can move a student towards his goals.
Nothing personal. I stick on the principle not to have anything personal with students. That might be positive or negative. Of course I would be eager to help them with their problems if it is academically. However if it is not I wouldn't be able to help them and I don't think that's my responsibility. I might give higher marks to some students and lower to other once. That's a regular thing. But I don't divide them or mark them according to my personal sympathy.
Last but not least, learning is a process where teacher and students involved both. Thus, teacher shouldn't be speaking all 45 minutes, but students must participate as well. I want to encourage them to be part of the learning prosess.
